The retrospective process - OPEN ACTIONS
The OPEN ACTIONS step lets you review past action items that still need to be closed or celebrate those that have been completed. It’s a simple way to keep the team accountable and maintain momentum.
Use this step to:
- Remind people of the key focus of a retro.
- Celebrate successes and acknowledge the achievements that have been made.
- Address blockers.
- Review or tick off completed actions.
- Remind team members of the team agreements before you begin the retro.
You can also review actions in the side panel at any step if you would like to review any open actions before starting your retro.
How to enable open actions
Navigate to the RETROSPECTIVES tab within a specific team.
Click on START A RETROSPECTIVE and choose your template, or CUSTOMIZE it if you have already created one.
- Go to the PROCESS tab and enable OPEN ACTIONS.
- The OPEN ACTIONS step will now appear in your process flow. Use it to review priorities, due dates, and assignees, and check off any completed items. If you have an integration set up, you can also publish these action items directly to your workflow management tool.
- Use PRESENT mode if you’d like to walk through each action or team agreement in more detail.
Under the Other open actions header, enable SHOW PUBLISHED in the case you have integrated with other tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Slack) that you have published action items to.
After reviewing past actions and team agreements, your team will be well-equipped to proceed to the BRAINSTORM step and begin adding new ideas.
