The health check process - REVIEW

The REVIEW step allows your team to finalize and confirm the action items identified during the health check. This step supports accountability by giving teams the opportunity to assign priorities, due dates, and ownership.

Use this step to:

  • review and update action items from previous retrospectives or health checks
  • reflect on and revisit team agreements
  • address items from the PARKING LOT that were set aside during the meeting
  • ensure key insights and decisions are captured before closing the session

This step helps consolidate outcomes and prepare the team for a focused and aligned meeting close.

  • To assign a priority to an action item, click the PRIORITY icon.

  • To assign a due date for an action, click the DUE icon.

  • To assign an owner for the action click the ASSIGN TO Icon.

Reviewing team agreements

  • If your team has established team agreements, they will appear in this step for review. This is a good opportunity to:
    • revisit agreed-upon behaviours or norms
    • reflect on alignment
    • update any agreements that no longer apply

Keeping team agreements visible reinforces accountability and shared values.

Reviewing items in the parking lot

  • Any items that were set aside during the meeting—such as off-topic ideas, deferred issues, or items that need more time, will appear in the PARKING LOT.

In the REVIEW step, the facilitator can:

    • review these items with the team
    • decide whether to create an action item or carry them forward
    • remove anything no longer relevant

This ensures nothing gets lost and encourages structured follow-up.

Once completed, the facilitator ends the health check meeting by moving to the CLOSE step.
