Optional Anonymity on Ideas / Comments
TeamRetro’s Optional Anonymity on Ideas / Comments feature lets participants choose, in the moment, whether to share ideas and comments anonymously or with their name attached. This gives people the flexibility to switch between anonymous and non-anonymous contributions within the same meeting.

Getting Started
Optional Anonymity is enabled on a per-meeting basis by the facilitator.
Enabling Optional Anonymity
Before the Meeting:
- Select your retrospective/health check template and, under the GENERAL tab, enable OPTIONAL ANONYMITY for the meeting.

During the Meeting:
- Open the meeting CUSTOMIZE panel by clicking the hamburger menu icon.

- Under the GENERAL tab, enable OPTIONAL ANONYMITY for the meeting (retrospective or health check).

Once enabled, the meeting will support both anonymous and named contributions simultaneously.
Why It Matters
Even in open and transparent settings, sometimes a team member might simply feel more comfortable submitting a topic or suggestion anonymously. This flexible approach recognizes that feedback preferences vary by team, topic, and timing. You get the psychological safety of anonymity when needed, plus the accountability and context that comes with attributed feedback.
