Planning Poker by TeamRetro
Coming Soon: Run estimation meetings inside TeamRetro (due for release in February).
Planning Poker (sometimes called Sprint Poker or Estimation Poker) is a collaborative way for Agile teams to estimate the effort of a user story or task. Everyone chooses an estimate privately, then reveals at the same time. This way, you get honest input, better conversations, and shared understanding.
TeamRetro Planning Poker is a standalone tool
You can run a Planning Poker session anytime, no sign-ups required.

How an online Planning Poker session works
- Add the items you want to estimate
- Choose an estimation deck (e.g., Fibonacci, T-shirt sizes, powers of two)
- Invite your team to join the session
- Discuss the item briefly to ensure everyone has context
- Everyone estimates privately
- Reveal estimates together, discuss differences, and agree on an estimate
- Record the final estimate and move to the next item
Why teams like Planning Poker
- Builds shared understanding (differences surface assumptions early)
- Reduces bias (private estimates aren’t swayed by the loudest voice)
- Keeps estimation focused (structured rounds and quick consensus)
